Ingredients

  • 1 lb. green beans, rinsed, dried and cut into 2" pieces

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, low sodium

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 14 cup water

  • 1 tsp of zero-calorie Truvía® Natural Sweetener Spoonable***

  • 1 tbsp corn starch

  • 18 tsp salt

  • 18 tsp pepper

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled, washed, dried and minced

  • 2 green onions, rinsed and chopped

  • 34 tsp red pepper flakes (divided)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, vinegar, water, Truvía® Natural Sweetener, corn starch, salt, black pepper and 14 tsp red pepper flakes.

  2. In a large skillet, turn heat to medium and add sesame oil. After 1 minute, add garlic, green onion and remaining 12 tsp red pepper flakes and saute in oil for 30 seconds. Add green beans and stir until they are almost cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Beans will turn a darker green and start to soften.

  3. Push beans to the side of the skillet and pour the sauce on cleared side. Stir over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Boil for 30 seconds and reduce heat to low.

  4. Coat the beans with the thickened sauce and continue to cook for an additional minute.

  5. Serve and enjoy. Refrigerate any leftovers.
