About Truvia® Original Sweetener

Satisfying sweetness with fewer calories and carbs than sugar.

Our Sweeteners

We believe sweetness was meant to be enjoyed. That's why we created products that allow you to reduce sugar, not flavor. Born from the leaves of the stevia plant, our plant-based stevia sweetness is rooted in the firm belief that sweetness does not have to be sacrificed.

Ethical, Responsible, Sustainable Stevia

At Truvia, we work hard to ensure that the stevia we source is not only the best-tasting, highest quality stevia available – but also sustainably and responsibly produced.

Three Ingredients. Infinite Possibilities.

Leaf cluster with crystals
Truvia Original Sweetener is made with simply three ingredients: stevia leaf extract, erythritol and natural flavors. To make Truvia Original Sweetener, we first take the sweetest part of the stevia leaf and extract its natural sweetness. But stevia leaf extract is 200 times sweeter than sugar, so to balance the sweetness we add a sugar alcohol called erythritol. Then we add a special recipe of natural flavors to create great-tasting, zero calorie sweetness.

Erythritol

Erythritol is a natural sweetener, produced by a fermentation process like beer and cheese. Erythritol is also found in fruits like grapes and pears.

Natural Flavors

Natural flavors are used to bring out the best of Truvia Original Sweetener, like pepper or salt or any other spice that would be used to enhance the taste of food.

From Stevia to Truvia Sweetener

In six stages, the sweetness of stevia makes the journey from harvest to your kitchen. By always following this series of steps, we ensure we obtain the best tasting parts of the stevia leaf to use in our sweeteners to add to your favorite dishes.
