Date Bars Recipe with Truvía® Natural Sweetener

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 34 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 12 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 13 cup of zero-calorie Truvía® Natural Sweetener Spoonable***



  1. Preheat oven to 325°F

  2. Place oats, flour, cinnamon, butter, salt, vanilla and Truvía® Natural Sweetener in bowl and mix at low speed for 1 minute.

  3. Scrape sides of bowl, mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.

  4. Portion two-thirds of oat mixture into a greased 9” square pan; set aside remaining one-third of mixture for topping.

  5. Press oat mixture into bottom of pan to form crust.

  6. For filling: cook the dates, Truvía® Natural Sweetener and water in a medium saucepan on low heat for 10 minutes or until the dates begin to soften. Stir in vanilla. Spread over pressed oat mixture.

  7. Crumble remaining oat mixture over the filling.

  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.

*This date bar has 170 calories and 11 grams of sugar per serving as compared to 210 calories and 22 grams of sugar per serving in the full-sugar version.
