Apple Crumble Pie made with Truvia

Granny’s favorite apple is baked to perfection in this gooey pie, topped with a crisp and buttery crumble.   • 1 frozen (or homemade) 8-inch pie crust


  • 1 cup flour

  • ½ cup Truvía® Sweet Complete® Brown Sweetener, packed

  • ½ cup Truvía® Sweet Complete® Granulated Stevia Leaf Sweetener

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 4 Tbsp butter

  • 1-3 tsp water (optional)


  • 8 small granny smith apples, washed and peeled

  • ½ Tbsp lemon juice

  • 13 cup Truvía® Sweet Complete® Granulated Stevia Leaf Sweetener

  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg


  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 450° F.

  • 2.

    Combine all topping ingredients, except water, using a fork until crumbly. Mixture should resemble a coarse crumb with some small pea-sized pieces remaining.

  • 3.

    If the mixture doesn’t form pea-sized pieces, add cold water 1 tsp at a time, while mixing, until pea-sized crumb forms. (Careful not to add too much water and form a dough.)

  • 4.

    Set-aside topping for later use.

  • 5.

    Peel, core, and slice apples into thin slices.

  • 6.

    Toss apple slices with Truvía® Sweet Complete® Granulated Stevia Leaf Sweetener. Blend in, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour.

  • 7.

    Pour filling into un-baked pie shell (filling will be very high).

  • 8.

    Place pie pan on a cookie sheet, it will drip over.

  • 9.

    Top filling with topping and pat it down over the apples.

  • 10.

    Bake at 450° F for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 325° F and bake an additional 40-50 minutes. Test by poking the center of the pie to make sure the apples are soft all of the way through.

  • 11.

    Serve warm or room temperature.

  • 12.

    Cover and refrigerate leftovers.

** Each serving has 290 calories and 13 grams of sugar per serving compared to the sugar-sweetened version which has 470 calories and 54 grams of sugar.
