Snickerdoodle Recipe made with Truvia

A deceptively simple cookie, with a silly name. These cookies are made with Truvia Sweet Complete® Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener and have 22% fewer calories* and 100% less sugar* than the full-sugar version.

  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 400ᵒ F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • 2.

    In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar. Set aside.

  • 3.

    In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and shortening on medium-high speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.

  • 4.

    Add Truvia Sweet Complete® Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener to creamed butter. Mix for 2 minutes on medium speed, stop mixer, and scrape down bowl.

  • 5.

    Mix for an additional 3 minutes on medium-high speed adding eggs one at a time.

  • 6.

    Add vanilla extract until fully blended.

  • 7.

    Reduce the mixer speed to low and add the flour in thirds until just combined.

  • 8.

    Shape dough into 1-inch balls.

  • 9.

    In a small bowl combine topping ingredients.

  • 10.

    Roll dough ball in topping mixer until well-coated.

  • 11.

    Place dough balls on sheet 2 inches apart and flatten lightly with palm.

  • 12.

    Bake 8-10 minutes.

  • 13.

    Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

  • 14.

    Store in airtight container.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft cookie and incredibly yummy So the one thing that drives me crazy are cookies that are hard or taste like artificial sugar. I'm a T2 diabetic, and I love to bake. However, I have had many recipes go flop. These Snickerdoodles are pillowy soft (I baked mine for 8 minutes) and have just the right amount of sweetness. What's even better, they don't taste artificial! I did make to changes to the recipe... one intentional and one not. Instead of using shortening (I don't like using shortening) I used an extra 1/2 cup butter. This is a total of 1 cup. The next change was anOops! ! I thought I was grabbing cinnamon but ended up grabbing ground clove. So after my oh know moment, I added all spice and cinnamon to the mixture. The cookies smell amazing and taste incredible! I will make these again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Confused? The baking blend has Sugar in it, right Only a 3 star as I need calrification. The recipe calls for Truvia “Blend” which has sugar, but many respondents seem to believe they are sugar free. Are you using pure Truvia (no sugar), or the baking blend (includes sugar)?
