Hoisin Style Glazed Meatballs

Quick and easy, Asian inspired meatballs coated in a sweet and sticky hoisin style sauce. Each serving contains 66% less sugar* per serving than the full-sugar version. Makes 12 servings.

Ingredients

Truvia Hoisin Style Sauce - 1 cup

Glazed Meatballs

  • 2 large eggs- room temperature

  • ¾ cup panko crumbs

  • 4 green onions washed, whites separated from greens and all chopped

  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 lbs. ground lean turkey

  • ½ lbs. lean ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon oil (electric pressure cookers or multicookers)

  • ½ cup water (electric pressure cookers or multicookers)

Directions

  • 1.

    Place all ingredients in a sealable jar, shake until well combined.

  • 2.

    Set aside.

Meatballs
  • 3.

    In a large bowl, combine the eggs, panko crumbs, green onions (whites only), garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.

  • 4.

    Add the ground turkey and beef and mix thoroughly using clean hands.

  • 5.

    Form into 12 large meatballs or 24 small meatballs.

  • 6.

    Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the electric pressure cookers or multicookers. Press SAUTE and brown the meatballs, about 2 minutes per side. When brown, press CANCEL.

  • 7.

    Pour in half of Truvia Hoisin Style Sauce and water into pot. Cover with lid and turn valve to SEALING.

  • 8.

    Cook on high for 10minutes.

  • 9.

    Carefully relieve the pressure and open the lid.

  • 10.

    Transfer to a platter and brush on remaining sauce.

  • 11.

    Top with greens of green onions.

Optional (Will Affect Nutritional Information)

  • Try with chicken, turkey, beef, alternative proteins or any combinations.

  • Make smaller meatballs for appetizers.

  • Add sliced vegetables to sauce.

  • Add meatballs to rice or noodles.

  • Bake in the oven for 18 to 22 minutes at 400 °F (204 °C) . The meatballs should be nicely browned and juicy. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the beef is at an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
