Crème Brulee Recipe with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend and Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

Impress your guests at the next get-together with this deliciously decadent crème brulee sweetened with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend and Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend. Created by Baking Star contest winner Kristi Webb, this crème brulee has 12% fewer calories* and 69% less sugar* than the regular sugar-sweetened version. Makes 6 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1 cup 2% evaporated milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 Tbsp Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • Pinch of salt

  • 4 egg yolks

  • 14 cup Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.

  2. In a sauce pan, combine heavy whipping cream, vanilla, Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend and salt. Heat to a simmer for 10 min then turn off stove. After removing from the heat, add the evaporated milk to help the mixture cool.

  3. Prep a baking dish by lining it with a kitchen towel, 6 ramekins, and pour hot water around the sides of the ramekins.

  4. Add the egg yolks to the saucepan and mix to blend.

  5. Pour the mixture into the ramekins and bake for 30 min.

  6. Cool then sprinkle the ramekins evenly with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend. Caramelize the Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend with a kitchen torch, chill and serve! (If you don’t have a kitchen torch, you can caramelize the Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend by placing the ramekins under a broiler for about 1-2 minutes until melted and caramelized).
