Apple Pie Recipe

  • Pastry for double-crust 9-inch pie

  • 13 cup + 112 Tbsp of zero-calorie Truvia Original Calorie-Free Sweetener Spoonable Jar***

  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch

  • 14 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 14 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 8 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

  • 1 Tbsp lemon zest

  • 1 Tbsp butter


  • 1.

    Roll out half of the pastry on a floured surface to 1 inch larger than inverted 9-inch pie pan. Ease pastry into pan.

    Blend Truvía® Original Sweetener, cornstarch, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in small bowl. Sprinkle on apples and toss until coated. Add lemon zest and mix thoroughly. Arrange apple mix into crust. Cut butter into slices, place on top of apples.

  • 3.

    Roll remaining pastry into circle large enough to cover inverted 9-inch pie pan. Place over apples, seal edges, trim and flute. Cut slits in top to allow steam to escape.

  • 4.

    Bake at 400°F for 40 to 50 minutes or until crust is golden and apples are tender. Cool on wire rack.

*This apple pie has 250 calories per serving as compared to a full-sugar version apple pie that has 310 calories per serving.

Time to go to the nearest orchard and pick your own apples, folks! Get some exercise doing that and then bring them home and use this recipe that will take you down Memory Lane savoring that good, old-fashioned apple pie, WITHOUT the guilt! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful pie Half our family is diabetic and half are not. I make this pie for dessert and don't say a word. No one knows it's made with Truvia. All I get is how good it is. I do use golden apples, we don't care for the tartness of Granny Smith. They always request me to bring this pie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flavors When I use this apple pie recipe, I use Truvia, the flavor brings out the sweetness of the apples and the cinnamon. I would use Truvia in all my baking recipes, the sweetness is sweeter then regular sugar. Apple pie is my favorite pie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to apple pie recipe For the last 2 years I have made apple pie with Truvia. NO ONE can tell the difference from a recipe with sugar. To this recipe I do add 1/8 tsp cardamom and 1/8 tsp. ginger. Would not make apple pie any other way. Everyone loves it.
