In most recipes, Truvía® Baking Blend will provide great results simply by replacing all of the sugar that is called for with half the amount of Truvía® Baking Blend. You do not need to modify anything else in your recipe. In case your recipe does not turn out as well as you would like, check out the following tips: Include or add baking soda to your baked good recipes (especially cakes and muffins) when replacing sugar with Truvía® Baking Blend to increase volume and browning. Generally ¼ to ½ teaspoon will be sufficient. When you replace the sugar in your recipe, you also lose bulk. Therefore, your final yield might be slightly less when using Truvía® Baking Blend. To compensate, you can also use a slightly smaller pan, such as an 8-inch round in place of a 9-inch round when making a layer cake. Replacing all or a portion of the shortening or butter with vegetable oil in recipes, not only reduces saturated fat, but will also increase the volume of cakes and muffins made with Truvía® Baking Blend.
