Ingredients

Filling

  • 4 small apples, washed, peeled and sliced

  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 14 tsp cinnamon

Topping

  • 14 cup oats

  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 Tbsp butter, unsalted and melted

  • 2 Tbsp pecans

  • 14 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 14 cup Truvia Sweet Complete Brown Sweetener

  • 14 cup Apple wood

Directions

  • 1.

    To make the apple crisp filling, combine apple slices, lemon zest, lemon juice and cinnamon in a bowl.

    Spread the filling evenly between two 4x4 inch cast-iron skillets or into one medium size cast iron pan.

    For the topping, place oats, flour, melted butter, pecans, cinnamon, and Truvia Sweet Complete Brown Sweetener into a large tupperware container or bag. Shake until blended.

    Evenly divide the topping mixture onto the apple filling and spread across the top.

    Following the smoker instructions, hot smoke the apple crisp for 1 hour.

    To make the topping crispy, preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 20 minutes.
