Cinnamon Sugar Baked Donuts Recipe with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

Ingredients

Donuts
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • 1 Tbsp baking powder

  • 12 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 34 cups skim milk

  • 1 large egg*

  • 2 Tbsp melted, unsalted butter

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract

Topping
  • 13 cup Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • 12 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp starch

  • 3 Tbsp skim milk

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350° F.

  2. Combine flour, Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until mixed and no large lumps remain. 

  5. Fill sprayed donut pan to 23 full. 

  6. Bake for 8-9 minutes. 

  7. Remove from oven and let rest in pan for 5 minutes, then move to racks to cool. 

  8. While waiting for donuts to cool, in a small microwavable bowl, mix Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, cinnamon and starch. Set aside. 

  9. Heat milk for about 30 seconds in microwave.

  10. Slowly add hot milk to the small bowl with the other topping ingredients.

  11. Mix well, heat the small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, carefully remove hot bowl and stir contents until thickens.

  12. Once donuts are cool, dip tops of donuts into the topping. 

  13. Place back on rack and repeat with remaining donuts.

  14. Store in a sealed container.
