Caramels Recipe with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

Rich, chewy caramels to complement your holiday platter or individually wrap. Made with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, these candies have 30% fewer calories* and 65% less sugar* than the full-sugar version. Makes 28 pieces.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • 18 tsp salt

  • 3 Tbsp light corn syrup

  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter

  • 12 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions

  1. Bring Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, salt, corn syrup, butter and cream to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Heat for an additional 10 minutes or until the candy thermometer reaches 300°F. while stirring continuously. Mixture will darken when temperature is reached.

  3. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.

  4. Pour into a parchment paper covered 9” x 5” bread pan.

  5. Cool overnight in the refrigerator.

  6. Cut into 1” x 1” pieces, serve, or wrap in wax paper.

*These candies have 140 calories and 7 grams of sugar per serving as compared to the full-sugar version that has 200 calories and 22 grams of sugar per serving.
