Kate's Baked Beans Recipe

Easy baked beans made with Truvia® Brown Sugar Blend will soon become your family’s favorite side dish. These beans have 42% less sugar* per serving than the regular brown full-sugar version. Makes 6 servings.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 can (28 oz.) pork & beans

  • 2 Tbsp Truvia® Brown Sugar Blend

  • 12 tsp dry mustard

  • 2 Tbsp molasses

  • 2 Tbsp ketchup or chili sauce

Directions

  • 1.

    Heat oven to 350° F.

  • 2.

    In a small skillet, sauté bacon and onion until bacon is crisp and onion is translucent, about 5 minutes, drain.

  • 3.

    Pour all ingredients into 1 ½ or 2-quart casserole.

  • 4.

    Bake about 30-45 minutes or until heated through and bubbly.

  • 5.

    Refrigerate leftovers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and can make it healthier. I tried this recipe and found it to be very good but wanted a bit healthier version so used dry beans instead of the can pork and beans. The recipe took a little longer but was delicious. Truvia is very easy to use and will be trying it in many recipes. Kates Baked Beans are a good side dish and one that all ages will enjoy. Please thank Kate for the idea.

I'm funny when it comes to using anything but reguklar sugar and brown sugar but this was actually really good. And better for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Recipe This is a good recipe but personally I prefer yellow mustard and not the dry. One reason is that I buy the yellow mustard for my husband all the time but I don't buy dry mustard because I just don't have a use for it.
