Ingredients
Brown Sugar Cinnamon Scones
2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
½ cup Truvia® Sweet Complete® Brown Sweetener, divided
½ teaspoon kosher salt
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
¾ cup heavy cream, plus extra for brushing
1 large egg
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
Directions
- 1.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- 2.
Whisk together flour, ¼ cup of Truvia® Sweet Complete® Brown Sweetener, baking powder and kosher salt in a large bowl.
- 3.
Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or your finger tips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4.
Whisk together heavy cream, egg and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Pour mixture into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 10-inch by 6-inch rectangle.
- 6.
Sprinkle dough evenly with 2 tablespoons of Truvia® Sweet Complete® Brown Sweetener and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Fold dough in half again and roll into a 8-inch by 6-inch rectangle, top with remaining Truvia® Sweet Complete® Brown Sweetener and remaining cinnamon. Fold dough once more and pat into a 6-inch circle.

Using a sharp knife cut circle into 8 even triangle-shaped wedges.

Transfer to prepared baking sheet and brush with additional heavy cream. Bake until golden-brown on top and a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, about 13-15 minutes.

Cool slightly before serving.
