Sweet & Spicy Peanuts Recipe made with Truvia

Try this simple spiced up slow cook snack that is a great finger food at your next get together. This peanut snack made with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend and Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend has 57% less sugar* than the regular sugar-sweetened version. Makes 24 servings.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 cups salted peanuts

  • 2 Tbsp Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

  • 14 cup Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • 1 Tbsp hot pepper sauce

Topping

  • 1 tsp chili pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 200°F.

  • 2.

    Combine salt and chili pepper for topping in a small bowl. Set aside.

  • 3.

    Melt butter in 1-1⁄2 Qt slow cooker.

  • 4.

    Mix in Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend, and hot sauce. Add peanuts and stir to combine.

  • 5.

    Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  • 6.

    Spread peanuts on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper in a single layer.

  • 7.

    Bake for 30 minutes.

  • 8.

    Remove peanuts from oven and immediately sprinkle with chili/salt topping.

  • 9.

    Allow to cool.

  • 10.

    Store in airtight container or bag.

*1 cup of these peanuts have 3 grams of sugar per serving compared to the full-sugar version which has 7 grams of sugar per serving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very tasty! I am not one for peanuts but my family has had a jar of them laying around for quite sometime so I decided to use them up. I was plesently surprised with how wonderful these tasted!! Even as a non peanut lover I enjoyed these quite a bit and would recomend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome snacking I have always made a sweet nut snack more naughty than anything. Found this recipe and tried it since I love Truvia. I made it once using all peanuts and awesome, couldn't stop snacking! Then for a bigger get together I used a different nuts, a mixed nut blend. WOW, flew out of the bowls as well. A keeper recipe, will make again! Happy snacking!
