Oatmeal Double-Chocolate Caramel Bars Recipe with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

Homemade Caramel Sauce
  • 14 cup butter

  • 12 cup Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

  • 12 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 12 tsp vanilla

  • 2 cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats

  • 34 cup unbleached flour

  • 34 cup whole wheat flour

  • 12 cup Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 12 tsp salt

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

  • 12 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 12cup candy-coated chocolate candies


  1. Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. Make caramel sauce: Microwave butter in 4-cup microwaveable measuring cup or medium microwaveable bowl until melted, about 45 seconds. Stir in Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend and whipping cream. Microwave 2- 212 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until mixture is bubbly and slightly thickened. Stir in vanilla. Cool at least 10 minutes.

  3. Combine dry ingredients. Add softened butter and mix with pastry blender or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Reserve 1 cup crumbs. Press remaining crumbs into a greased 9x13 baking pan.

    Bake 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes.

  5. Drizzle caramel sauce over crust.

  6. Sprinkle nuts, chips and candies over caramel layer. Crumble remaining 1 cup crumbs over top.

  7. Bake 10-15 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Cut into 48 bars when cool.
