Holiday Sangria Recipe

Simple Syrup


  • 1 bottle Zinfandel

  • ¾ cup simple syrup

  • ⅓ cup Cointreau

  • 2 Honeycrisp apples, cored and sliced

  • 1 pear, cored and sliced

  • 1 orange, sliced

  • 1 lemon, sliced

  • 1 12-oz. bottle ginger beer

***or 12 zero-calorie Truvia Original Sweetener Packets


  • 1.

    To prepare simple syrup, combine water, Truvia Original Sweetener, cloves, ginger and cinnamon in a saucepan. Gently simmer 15-20 minutes until the Truvia Original Sweetener dissolves and flavors blend.

  • 2.

    Remove from heat and cool completely. The simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

  • 3.

    To make sangria, combine Zinfandel, simple syrup and Cointreau in pitcher or carafe. Stir to combine. Add apples, pear, orange and lemon.

  • 4.

    To serve, fill 6 glasses with ice. Divide sangria between glasses and top each with ginger beer.

*This sangria has 200 calories and 11 grams of sugar per serving compared to the sugar-sweetened version which has 250 calories and 23 grams of sugar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sangria magic Oh my goodness, this has to be the best amazing drink I have ever tried. There is just no words to describe the flavors that you get from this amazing drink. I would have never thought putting Cloves in a drink could be so good but let me tell you it's wounderful. You have to give this a try, you will be amazed on how much you will love it.

I would tell everyone about this because it is worth it. I am bad at following recipes but this is something that i found was easy. You can adjust the amounts to give it an extra kick too.

Love the color to a festive holiday drink your family and friends will love. I didn't think I would like the ginger beer in it but it makes a world of difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sangria With all the fruit in it you forget it is really a alcoholic drink. I do drink alcohol an juice, but this is a completely different it ! You don't even taste the beer. You Do get that fizz that beer has. Great taste. A drink and snack all in one.
