Chocolate Peppermint Detail

Chocolate Peppermint Cookies made with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend and Truvía® Nectar 

These soft and chewy Chocolate Peppermint Cookies are Santa-approved! Made with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, Truvía® Nectar and a sprinkling of crushed candy cane, these cookies contain 14% fewer calories and 50% less sugar* per serving than the full-sugar version. Makes 18 cookies.

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 14 cup Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • 2 Tbsp Truvía® Nectar

  • 2 eggs*

  • 18  tsp peppermint oil

  • 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • 13 cup cocoa powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp baking powder

  • 13 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 candy cane, crushed


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl cream together butter, Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend and Truvía® Nectar until smooth.

  3. Mix in eggs and peppermint oil.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

  5. Sift dry ingredients and slowly add to butter mixture.

  6. Stir in chocolate chips.

  7. Form dough into 18 small balls.

  8. Place balls onto parchment-lined baking sheet.

  9. Flatten down balls and bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

  10. While the cookies are baking, crush candy cane in a sealed bag.

  11. When cookies come out of oven sprinkle crushed candy can on top.

  12. Remove cookies to cooling rack to completely cool.

  13. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
