Apple Galette Recipe with Truvía® Natural Sweetener

Think homemade apple pie with a rustic, surprisingly sweet twist. Made with Truvía® Natural Sweetener, this galette has 60% less sugar* and 25% fewer calories* than the full-sugar version. Makes 1 6-inch pie (8 servings).

  • 6 cups apples, thinly sliced

  • 1 tsp fresh lemon zest

  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 13 cup of zero-calorie Truvía® Natural Sweetener Spoonable

  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground

  • 18 tsp nutmeg, ground

  • 12 tsp Diamond Crystal® kosher salt

  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 pie crust

  • 2 Tbsp butter


  1. Assemble all ingredients; preheat oven to 425° F.

  2. Place apples in bowl, top with lemon zest and juice; set aside.

  3. In mixing bowl, place Truvía® Natural Sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, kosher salt, and cornstarch; blend well; pour over apples; mix well.

  4. Place pie crust dough on lightly floured surface; roll out; transfer to parchment-lined sheet pan.

  5. Place apple mixture into center of pie crust; leaving 112 inch border around edge of crust; place butter pats on top of apples.

  6. Flip up crust edge towards middle, pleating as you fold up.

  7. Bake in 425° F oven for 45-50 minutes; rotate 180° half way through baking.

  8. Cool on wire rack; serve warm or at room temperature.

*This apple galette has 200 calories and 8 grams of sugar per serving as compared to a full-sugar apple galette that has 260 calories and 22 grams of sugar per serving.
